THE POP CULTURE SUICIDES RELEASE A FREE MP3!
The Pop Culture Suicides put their unmistakable spin on a classic and now you can download it for free at iLike.com!
"For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield is as relevant today as it was when it was first recorded in December 1966 (a Top Ten Hit in March 1967)

TPCS update
I laid out the track listing this morning.
The chapter (EP) count is at 6 and it will most likely end up being 8 which would equal 2 double albums.
We will be releasing individual songs from the various EP's as a bit of a teaser.
They will be numbered as to where they go (a page/chapter number) in the entire piece. There is a storyline so it does technically fall under either performance piece (which at least once I would like to do it in it's entirety) or a rock opera but everyone will hear it in a different way so ultimately it's up to the listener...

Mixing Songs
"Hello.
After moving rehearsals out of Humboldt Park and into my house, I have been mixing for at least
2 months straight while also trying to get a handle on the studio and live room here.
I should rewind a bit so you get some of the back story. After 2 (much) less than enjoyable
attempts to have the songs mixed by "known" "professionals" and the resulting 6 months of
completely wasted time, I am back to what works best, I am alone in the studio getting things done.
I have been mixing songs for The Pop Culture Suicides debut (a double album split into 4 EP's).
Music, in general, has been going further and further in the direction of being so (over) produced
and shiny and perfect and intonated that even though it may be on a specific genre/format of
radio/tv/video game, it all sounds the same. Metal with the same production as country with the same
production as hip hop with the same production as indie. It's like this blanket format of predictable
production and mixing. As if everyone hears music the same way.
There's no emotion. It's all so safe and predictable. It's alien to me.
I have referenced only one album during my mixing; "Raw Power" by The Stooges. I like the honesty and
emotion in the way the album sounds. You are a participant, you have no choice but to feel the songs,
without hearing the production.
The albums have been in the works for a while, maybe even my whole life.
They are done. I dont have a release date for I (or II or III or IV) yet but it wont be long. There
will be a download available very soon.
I write and record a lot so I am already working on connecting another double album to the debut.
Nothing seems to settle my mind more than writing music so I do that a lot or suffer the consequences.
In addition to all of the above I have music on the Pleistoscene page and I will be adding a lot of
new music to my music page. I have had some time that I havent had in a while to really focus on both
of those projects before everything TPCS gets crazy....
to be continued...."

Publicly Quiet, Non-Stop Volume in the Studio!
I have been quiet, publicly, but in my studio it's been not stop volume. I feel I am writing the best music I ever have and with each new song it gets better, more defined as far as what I consider to be my style, yet still indescribable even to me.... Read more in Re: Hungry ears
